Sara at work in the atelier, mid-session

A tattoo that has always belonged to the body.

A contemporary fine line tattoo atelier, inside an art gallery. Botanical, abstract, and figurative work, drawn by hand, made for your skin.

The atelier

A tattoo shouldn't ask for attention. It should feel inevitable - as though your body had always been carrying it.

Uraeus is my studio. I’m an artist who happens to tattoo. The work begins on paper, in conversation, in the small corrections that make a drawing belong to one person and no one else.

Extremely thin lines. Soft shading. Skin left as negative space. What I leave out is drawn as carefully as what I put in.

The conversation

It starts with your idea: a plant, a word, a memory, a shape you can’t quite describe yet. I listen more than I talk.

The drawing

Pencil, tracing paper, erasers. The design is drawn by hand for your body alone, adjusted, redrawn, and adjusted again until it belongs.

The blue

The stencil, the first time the drawing touches skin. I place it, step back, move it a centimetre, step back again. This is where a tattoo starts to belong to a body.

The skin

Slow, thin lines in a calm room. We work in silence or in conversation, whichever the day asks for. Aftercare is explained properly, and I’m one message away while it heals.

The space

Inside an art gallery,
not a shop.

Uraeus lives inside an art gallery in Faro. You arrive to paintings, ceramics, and daylight, not neon and flash sheets. The tattoo is treated the way the work around it is treated: as a piece with an author and an owner.

Natural light, linen, paper, plants. A place designed for a slow appointment: time to talk, time to adjust the drawing, time to sit with the stencil before a single line is made.

The artist

The hand behind every line.

Sara is the artist, founder, and for now the only resident hand at Uraeus. Contemporary fine line work: botanical, organic, abstract, micro-realism.

Every piece is drawn by her, for one body, once. A small studio by choice: fewer appointments, longer conversations, and a drawing that gets the hours it deserves.
